Development of the series had begun by October 2021, with Schaeffer and Hahn attached, and it was formally announced the next month. Schaeffer, Gandja Monteiro, and Rachel Goldberg were set as directors in early 2023 ahead of filming. A number of additional actors from WandaVision reprise their roles in Agatha, as do many of the production team, including many of the writers and the music team. Filming took place from mid-January to late May 2023 at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, with additional filming in Los Angeles. The series was officially titled Agatha by March 2024, but was previously subtitled with House of Harkness, Coven of Chaos, and Darkhold Diaries at different times.

Films like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels are also slated to debut in 2022. If the series begins where WandaVision ends, there’s also a possibility that some of the neighborly characters from Westview will rejoin her. In an interview with The New York Times about Agatha’s WandaVision fate, Hahn said, “She needed to rest for a hot second ... There are rumors that Olsen may appear, but those are yet to be confirmed.

She looks upon them, watching a comedy show, until, a bomb lands on their house, killing Wanda and Pietro's parents, and destroying the home. The pair hide under a table, and second bomb lands in front of them, but doesn't detonate. Agatha questions if Wanda stopped the bomb, and reveals that she used a probability hex. She asks how long they were trapped for, and Wanda tells them, it was two days.
Why a surprise guest in this week’s ‘WandaVision’ could be a game-changer for the MCU
She creates a fake persona named Agnes, and moves into house, next door, to Wanda Maximoff and Vision. She takes control of the owner, who Ralph Bohner, and claims he is her husband. As Agnes, Agatha acts as a very perky and spontaneous person, being talkative nearly every time.

She is shown to love gossiping and giving advice to the couple, especially to Wanda. She is also nosy, always barging into Wanda and Vision's house at anytime, normally without being invited. She curiously and conveniently always brings with her an item that they are needing at the moment and is always willing to help them, which Wanda sees as her just trying to be a good neighbor, but this also makes Vision suspicious of her. Kathryn Hahn portrayed Agatha Harkness in the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) miniseries WandaVision, and is set to reprise her role as the star of the spin-off series Agatha. WandaVision ran for nine episodes with only one (!) featuring a Kathryn Hahn song number.
In the comics, Tommy (aka, Speed) is often shown alongside his brother and fought with him on the Young Avengers. With these boys, nothing’s really ruled out — they seem to exist in every universe through sheer force of will. But what’s especially exciting is one of the characters listed for a lead role. “Tyler” is described as a White American teen with a “formidable and dark sense of humor, incredibly witty, astute, and of the moment.” What’s more, he’s also described as a “bit of a fan-boy at times” and will be portrayed as gay. Jac Schaeffer, head writer for WandaVision, would also write and produce this spin-off. The upcoming spinoff will see Schaeffer, who is under a joint overall deal with Marvel and 20th Television, serve as writer and executive producer on the Harkness spinoff, as was reported by Deadline’s sister pub Variety.
Fans have long speculated that there was more to Wanda’s enthusiastic, meddlesome neighbor, coming up with theories about her true identity informed by the fact that Agnes is a portmanteau for Agatha Harkness. They’ve also tracked Easter eggs since the show’s premiere, including everything from her witch costume in the Halloween episode to the name of her rabbit, Señor Scratchy (in the comics, Agatha has a son named Nicholas Scratch). While the character description says “Tyler”, it’s not uncommon with castings listings that the real character’s name will be different. The actual character description sounds similar to the teenage version of Wanda’s son, Billy Maximoff, aka Wiccan.

Marvel Studios has already announced it is working on a “Fantastic Four” film set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following the couples arrival, Agnes enters and introduces herself, with a housewarming gift, explaining that she would've visited earlier, had she been home, but her mother-in-law was in town, so she wasn't. She makes a remark on how fast Wanda has unpacked, and enquirers on her status, to which Wanda reveals, she is married. Wanda furthermore explains her husband will be return for a special occasion, and Agnes concludes it must be for an anniversary. When Agnes asks Wanda how long she and her husband have been together, Wanda explains that she's felt like they've always been together, and Agnes laments her own husband would only remember their anniversary, if it was named after a beer. She asks what Wanda's planned, for the occasion, and recalls a magazine article she read, which can help her, and leaves to retrieve it, so they can begin preparing.

She is magically bound, and tied to the stake, as her mother, Evanora, reads the charges against her. She is accused of betraying her coven by stealing knowledge above her age and station, and practicing the darkest of magic. She claims that she didn't steal break any rules, but simply bent them to her power. The coven surrounding Agatha begin chanting, and she protests that she can't control it, and cries if they only taught her instead. She begs for help, and urges for her mothers aid, but Evanora joins in the chant. The coven shoot beams of blue magic into Agatha, and she screams in agony.
Her eyes glow violet, and a flash of luminescence, flows around Wanda, turning her eyes the same color. Agnes arrives at the Vision residence, after hearing the twins crying, and offers to console them, for the stressed parents. Wanda thanks her, but before Agnes can take on her offer, Vision begins fretting about keeping the twins safe, and decides, maybe she shouldn't. Agnes glances at Wanda, and in serious tone, different from her usual upbeat demeanor, asks if she should take that again, as Wanda wants her to hold the babies. She offers to take it from the top, and Wanda quickly laughs this off, and tells Vision they should let Agnes try.
Agnes then shifts away from the serious manner in which she last spoke, back to her original preppy form, and dares the babies to stay awake. She begins rocking the crib, while doing lunges, and then sprays lavender, which she tells Wanda and Vision, has a calming effect, and that Ralph sprays it on her, though there's not taming her. She then goes into their cabinet, and informs them, she's looking for dark liquor, for the twins. While she's there, the twins age up five years, to Wanda and Visions shock, and Agnes sits on the counter, with a drink in hand, and makes a remark on how you cant control kids, no matter how hard you try. Agnes later sees Billy and Tommy have a new pet dog, though her window, and comes over, with a kennel for them. She asks if they've named him, and Billy suggests Sniffy, but at that moment, the dog, begins sniffing at a socket, causing sparky to fly, and Agnes suggests Sparky, which they settle on.
In the culmination of the “Vision Quest” arc of “The West Coast Avengers” (1989), it is revealed that the magical powers used to create Thomas and William made them the lost pieces of Mephisto’s soul. (Mephisto is basically the devil of Marvel comics.) The children are kidnapped by Mephisto’s proxy, Master Pandemonium, and are absorbed into his arms. A powerful witch, Agatha is eventually called upon to help Wanda with her magic and becomes her mentor.
Or alternatively, the description could for be a new character, Agatha’s son Nicholas Scratch, who is a wizard and a supervillain in the comic books. Of course, this could be an entirely different gay character — or maybe a future love interest for Billy — but it’s wise to never underestimate the number of familiar characters a Marvel series can contain. Especially in a WandaVision spinoff series, there’s no telling what could happen. Disney+ Day 2021 is here, and it’s kicking into high gear with brand new announcements coming out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with what’s to come from the streaming service. During Marvel Studios' 2021 Disney+ Day Special — which is currently streaming exclusively on Disney+ — it was revealed that Emmy-nominee Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as Agatha Harkness for a brand new Disney+ series. During the streamer’s Disney Plus Day event on Friday, Disney+ unveiled the official title for the spinoff series which will see Hahn reprise her role, for which she received an Emmy nomination.
As the first to discover Wanda's use of chaos magic, Agatha has had a major hand in creating the MCU's multiverse as we now know it. The last we saw of Agatha, Wanda had reverted the clever witch back to her 1950s-era sitcom form, Agnes, but no one expects Agatha to stay helpless for long. In the WandaVision spin-off, she'll almost certainly claw her way back to power. Hahn’s Agatha Harkness appeared in Disney+’s WandaVision, from series creator Jac Schaeffer.
